[NEWS] Space Shift Selected for JAXA’s 4th Research Announcement on the Earth Observations (EO-RA4) – Advancing Algorithm Development Using ALOS-4 Satellite Data –

SPACE SHIFT KV

Space Shift is pleased to announce that our research proposal has been selected for the “4th Research Announcement on the Earth Observations (EO-RA4)” conducted by the Earth Observation Research Center (EORC) of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) within its Space Technology Directorate I.

About the 4th Research Announcement on the Earth Observations (EO-RA4)

The 4th Research Announcement on the Earth Observations (EO-RA4) is a public solicitation by JAXA aimed at promoting application research, demonstration, and studies that contribute to the social implementation of JAXA’s Earth observation satellite data.

The scope of this announcement includes the development of satellite-specific algorithms and the enhancement of standard products, as well as research themes that contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the Earth system and the resolution of issues toward social implementation. (For more details, please visit JAXA’s official website.)

Selected Research Theme

In this research, Space Shift will leverage observation data from JAXA’s Advanced Land Observing Satellite-4 “ALOS-4 PALSAR-3” to develop algorithms for the advanced utilization of Earth observation data.

Our research theme has been selected under the category “Calibration and Validation (Cal/Val) of Standard Products.” This experimental theme aims to unlock the fundamental potential of ALOS-4 PALSAR-3 data.

By advancing satellite data analysis technologies, we aim to promote the utilization of Earth observation data to gain a more accurate understanding of the global environment and contribute to the resolution of social issues.

Message from our Project Lead

“We are honored to have been granted this valuable opportunity by JAXA. We are committed to continuing our research and sharing results that contribute meaningfully to society.
By applying my experience in advanced signal processing and geophysics to this project, we aim to deliver unique insights and drive business development in ways that only Space Shift can. We look forward to creating new value through this research.”
