[News] Space Shift Selected for FY2023 Supplementary Budget Project: “Future-Oriented Co-Creation in the Global South” Subsidy Program (Second Call for Proposals on Promoting Overseas Infrastructure Deployment by Japanese Companies)
Developing a Marine Environmental Monitoring System in Brazil.
Space Shift Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shigeo Kanemoto, hereinafter “Space Shift”) is pleased to announce that its joint proposal with ArkEdge Space Inc. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takayoshi Fukushiro, lead company) and LocationMind Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naoki Kiritani) has been selected for the FY2023 supplementary budget project, “Future-Oriented Co-Creation in the Global South” Subsidy Program (Second Call for Proposals on Promoting Overseas Infrastructure Deployment by Japanese Companies) . The project is titled “Brazil / Demonstration of a Marine Environmental Monitoring System Utilizing Satellite Big Data and AI”.
■ Overview of the Selected Project
This project aims to validate the effectiveness of an automated detection system using a geospatial information platform that integrates AI analysis of SAR and optical satellite data with AIS information analysis. The system will be developed to support oilfield operations and marine environmental protection in Brazil.
In this collaborative effort, Space Shift will leverage its expertise in AI-based technologies, such as oil slick detection (petroleum on the sea surface) and vessel detection. Additionally, Space Shift aims to deliver analysis solutions tailored to local needs by cross-referencing detection results with AIS data (big data on the movement of large vessels).
