[PressRelease] SpaceShift Signs MOU with Spatial Decisions Vietnam for Commercialization of Satellite Data Analytics AI
Commercial Deployment of Urban, Disaster, and Agricultural Monitoring in Vietnam and Southeast Asia
Space Shift Inc.(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naruo Kanemoto; hereinafter “SpaceShift”) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Spatial Decisions Vietnam Company Ltd. (Headquarters: Hanoi, Vietnam; Managing Director: Kapil Chaudhery; hereinafter “SDVN”) on March 12, 2026, aimed at the commercialization of satellite data analytics AI. The MOU was signed during the March 12-14, “VIETNAM – JAPAN SPACE HORIZONS 2026 FORUM “Partnering for the New Era””, held at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in Hanoi.

Against a backdrop of rapid urbanization and growing climate change risks in Southeast Asia, demand for sustainable infrastructure management and agricultural optimization using satellite data is rapidly expanding. Through this partnership, SpaceShift will fully deploy its satellite data analytics AI product “SateAIs” in Vietnam and neighboring countries, contributing to the resolution of regional challenges.
■ Key Points of the Partnership
- Areas of Collaboration: (i) Urban monitoring (automated detection of new and demolished buildings) / (ii) Flood and disaster detection (real-time and periodic assessment of damage) / (iii) Agricultural monitoring (analysis of crop growth stages)
- Target Markets: Starting from Vietnam, expanding to neighboring Southeast Asian countries where SDVN has established business foundations
■ Background and Significance
In Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, the increase in unauthorized construction due to rapid urbanization, natural disaster risks from floods and typhoons, and the optimization of agricultural productivity are urgent challenges. Meanwhile, conventional on-site surveys face limitations in both time and cost, increasing expectations for wide-area, high-frequency monitoring using satellite data.
SpaceShift has developed and provided all-weather change detection AI, unaffected by weather conditions, centered on high-precision SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite data analysis technology. SDVN possesses strong networks with government and private sectors across Asian countries, particularly in urban planning, along with expertise in geospatial data utilization. By combining the strengths of both companies, the social implementation of satellite data technology will be accelerated.
SDVN is a partner company of SpaceShift’s satellite data business co-creation program “SateBiz.” With this MOU as a catalyst, SpaceShift and SDVN will execute multiple demonstration projects currently under consideration for disaster and urban monitoring in Southeast Asia, and expand co-creation business use cases for SateBiz internationally.

■ Future Outlook
Using this MOU as a starting point, both companies will first conduct technology verification through pilot projects, aiming for early commercialization. While leveraging the community of SpaceShift’s satellite data business co-creation program “SateBiz,” the companies will promote the construction of an ecosystem in collaboration with partners both within and outside Vietnam.
