[Press Release] Official Launch – Making Satellite Data More Accessible for a Smarter Society Space Shift Standardizes Satellite Data × AI Analysis into Ready-to-Use Packages: Now Offering “Building Change Detection AI” and “Idle Farmland Detection AI”

Space Shift, Inc. has launched a new suite of packaged solutions that systematize its previously custom-provided satellite data × AI analytics services.
Until now, analyzing satellite data often required specialized knowledge and custom system design. With this new standardized offering, even non-engineers—such as business teams and on-site personnel—can more easily incorporate satellite-based insights into their daily operations for improved efficiency and decision-making.

As the first step in this initiative, we have officially launched two services: the Idle Farmland Detection AI and the Building Change Detection AI, with clearly defined pricing structures and delivery methods.
Moving forward, Space Shift plans to expand these efforts under a unified brand for Satellite Data × AI Analytics Services, aiming for a full-scale rollout across various sectors.

■Background and Purpose of the Packaging

In recent years, the demand for satellite data has been rapidly expanding across various sectors such as agriculture, urban management, disaster prevention, finance, and media.
However, many users have voiced challenges such as “unclear implementation processes” and “difficulty in understanding pricing or deliverables.”

To address these concerns, we have structured our solutions into easy-to-adopt packages by clearly defining use cases for each analysis algorithm, and by presenting straightforward pricing and service details.
This enables a wider range of users—not only technical experts—to adopt satellite data analytics and utilize them continuously in their operations.

■First Package Launch:

Idle Farmland Detection AI

This service is designed for agricultural committees and local governments to automatically detect potential idle or abandoned farmland.

By leveraging satellite data and AI, the system color-codes vast agricultural areas based on land usage status, making it easy to visualize and prioritize areas for on-site investigation.
In a proof-of-concept project conducted in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, the system helped reduce the number of fields requiring inspection by approximately 50%, significantly reducing workload and improving efficiency.

Building Change Detection AI

Automatically detects surface changes such as newly constructed or demolished buildings in urban and suburban areas.

By utilizing SAR and optical satellite imagery, this service enables continuous urban monitoring and supports various use cases such as asset management for real estate and financial institutions, as well as rapid situational awareness for news media.

️Future Outlook

In light of the increasing risks of floods and landslides during the summer and autumn seasons, we will sequentially package services for automated detection of landslides and inundated areas. In parallel, we plan to enhance our service offerings in response to growing demand from both public and private sectors, including:
Crop yield prediction
Crop monitoring
Integration with customer operational systems
Provision of user interfaces (UI)
“Generative AI Service” released on August 19, 2025

These offerings will be developed and expanded according to customer needs.
Furthermore, we aim to go beyond delivering analysis results by enhancing integration with external platforms, API availability, and promoting co-development with partner companies. Through these efforts, we will continue to deliver innovative solutions that utilize satellite data for digital transformation (DX) and address critical social challenges.
