[Press Release] Space Shift Adds “Ship Detection AI” and “Oil Slick Detection AI” to SateAIs

Space Shift Inc. has launched “Ship Detection AI” and “Oil Slick Detection AI” under its satellite data analysis brand, SateAIs™.
In addition to providing analysis reports, both services support API integration. This allows for fast and flexible operation by combining them with existing monitoring systems and business applications. We empower organizations to achieve advanced situational awareness and operational efficiency using satellite data and AI in fields such as marine environmental conservation, maritime infrastructure management, and maritime surveillance.
About SateAIs
Based on the concept “Empowering Operations with Satellite + AI Analysis,” SateAIs is a specialized analysis brand that categorizes Space Shift’s proprietary satellite data analysis algorithms by application and delivery model.
By organizing complex, high-level satellite analysis into purpose-specific AI packages, SateAIs lowers the barrier to entry. This enables a wide range of users—including local governments, corporations, and research institutions—to leverage satellite data to solve their specific operational challenges.
SateAIs features sub-brands specialized in various domains, such as City, Ocean, Earth, Environment, Agriculture, and Time. With this release, we have expanded our analysis AI within the marine domain, “SateAIs Ocean.”

In this release, we are officially launching two AI analysis services within “SateAIs Ocean”: “Ship Detection AI” and “Oil Slick Detection AI.”
* “SateAIs Environment” is scheduled for release in the near future.
Ship Detection AI (SateAIs Ocean)
Ship Detection AI is an analysis service that uses Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data to automatically detect and visualize ships at sea.
By providing a comprehensive overview of ship activity across vast maritime areas, it can be utilized for various applications, including maritime traffic monitoring, illegal fishing countermeasures, and the management of ports and offshore infrastructure.
The service also supports advanced analysis through integration with AIS (Automatic Identification System) data, enabling efficient monitoring of designated maritime areas.

Oil Slick Detection AI (SateAIs Ocean)
Oil Slick Detection AI is an analysis service that primarily leverages SAR satellite data to automatically detect oil slicks on the ocean surface.
It enables the wide-area and periodic identification of oil slicks caused by ship accidents, illegal discharge, or leaks from offshore infrastructure, contributing to the early detection of marine pollution and environmental risk management.
The service is expected to be used as a tool to complement field surveys by port authorities, energy companies, local governments, and research institutions dedicated to marine conservation.

Future Outlook
Space Shift will continue to expand our range of analysis packages and diversify our delivery models, centered around the SateAIs brand.
Starting with Oil Slick and Ship Detection AI, we will further advance our AI analysis for marine environmental monitoring and maritime risk management. Simultaneously, we will enhance our delivery formats—including API integration and dashboard solutions—tailored to specific use cases across all our services.
Through co-creation with local governments, corporations, and research institutions, we aim to accelerate the social implementation of satellite data and AI in the maritime sector.
